This painting is about seeing divinity in the Self, a divinity that is humble, accepting and not bound by the limits of the Ego. The hand is the one of the artist and so is the reflection, which represents the soul within. The eyes are closed to signify the focus inward in order to feel the deeper connection with one's higher consciousness.
