This particular painting portrays a Kundalini opening; the energy flowing through the crown chakra. The woman is not sitting in any yoga or meditation pose in order to visualize the idea that a Kundalini opening should not stay in the spiritual realm but helps you in your daily life, if sustained (which takes a bit of continuous work).
This painting is part of the "GOD Within" collection, which depicts Mahen's own inner deity, by drawing it inside a silhouette, generally a feminine one. The bits of paint on the sides are remains of the paint that was originally in the wood and gradually faded. Mahen used the same colour shades to paint in the centre.
